The League of Women Voters of Western Nevada County Presents: Grass Valley City Council candidate forum

The LWVWNC put together this candidate forum to help introduce each candidate to local Grass Valley voters. Due to COVID-19, in person forums are not doable; so, thank you to the League of Women Voters for putting on this forum to help keep voters informed and engaged. Each candidate is asked alternating questions from the local community and the local media and given a couple minutes to respond.

Check out the video to hear the full responses from each candidate. The more informed you are (the voter), the more likely we’ll have a strong, capable City Council moving into the future.

I feel like the biggest issues pressuring the city are COVID-19 (and how that might impact our local businesses), affordable housing, fires and the PG&E power safety shut-offs. I feel like Grass Valley has been handling these issue well. But with two City Council members stepping down after this year, we need thoughtful, engaged, and hard-working people to fill those roles. I want to do my part in continuing to focus on the future of Grass Valley; bringing new affordable housing, continuing to improve and expand outdoor trails and parks, while still working to adapt to and overcome ever changing short-term challenges (like COVID-19 and PG&E power outages).
